I apologize if this isn't the appropriate place to post about this, but I've just launched a new web site called Bitcoin Tower.

Here's how I describe it:

Bitcoin Tower is an experiment in modern capitalism and conspicuous consumption. The only rule here is the person who pays the most tops the tower. After that, all the previous levels are sorted in descending order. You can even attach a message to say whatever you want or advertise something!

What does topping the tower do?  What are the 'previous levels'?  Very little is spelled out on your website, seems like it's just a cash grab.

I'd say he's just offering "advertising" - whoever pays the most gets listed first.
In the site's About Us:

Why would anyone do this?
Status symbols are a major part of society. Nobody really needs a Porsche or a mansion, but that doesn't stop them from buying them anyway to show off! Even in the virtual world, status symbols are important. People pay for virtual goods all the time, even when they're purely cosmetic. See the cosmetic items in Team Fortress 2.

I'm not sure if this would be of any value to an advertiser...

That's the benefit of creating a site, you get to add in whatever [fake data] you want!

@OP You should have a link to blockchain/blockexplorer for each transaction, that way you can prove they're real.

I wanted to seed the tower with one transaction so the first one was created with the very least amount you'd need to be in the database. The other ones are real I promise!

You should have a link to blockchain/blockexplorer for each transaction, that way you can prove they're real.

That's a good idea. I'll implement that soon!

No, there's no way to get money out of it. There is no investment aspect to it.

Think of it as a billboard where the best position gets slightly more expensive to rent every time. There's nothing stopping you from putting your message elsewhere of course, it's just ordered by payment.
