I've got a fresh HD 6850 overcloked to 850 MHz with OverDrive.

The mining hardware comparison-list states values far beyond that (up to 1000 MHz).

How can I reach that too?

I get 243.X @ 960core/344memory at 70c max when my room temp is at 32c

MSI Afterburner allows you to change voltages, and you can overclock from within it. Your card doesn't have to be an MSI card. I use it with my XFX 5770. I'm not sure what the CCC limit on the clocks are, but you can go higher by enabling unofficial overclocking in the MSI Afterburner config file. You can also set a custom fan curve to help keep your card cooler.

the limit of the 6850 is 244 mh/s

I think 1050 is too much.

Try to get the lowest value which will get you 244

what? I'm using stock cooling of my sapphire 6850 and I live in the tropics

My room can reach 33c-34c and when it does the highest temp I have ever recorded with 960core/344memory is 71c @100%fan

lower your mem clocks it reduces temperatures+gives extra hashes

Old thread bump, I know, but it's exactly the steps I've taken so far so need to go through them all again.

What I'm wondering is how the other posters in this thread have managed to adjust their Core Voltage on this card (6850).  In Afterburner I only have the option to adjust core and mem clock, and fan of course.  I am also able to adjust these values outside of the manufacturer "OC" specs, so currently I'm working my way down at 957, keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have another gpu reset.  From what I understand if I were able to up the voltage I may be able to run these slightly higher clock speeds with more stability.  I've been through the EULA in the config file and the switches in afterburner settings so AFAIK I've unlocked the program to its full potential, just still unable to adjust voltage though.

Specifically my card is a XFX Black Editition Radeon HD 6850.  Does XFX not allow core voltage mods or am I not unlocking the afterburner properly?  Thanks.

Be careful with the OCing in general because I have heard of electromigration ruining those chips from too much heat and voltage being pumped.

YMMV when OCing as each chip is different from the next.

Try Trixx, it lets you adjust voltage. I used MSI fterburner for a while but Trixx gives you more control over your card.
