Does any one have any interest in using or developing an exchange that trades fund/btc pairs where the fund is based on all the coins on a given exchange weighted and combined?

For example btce fund would consist of all the coins btc-e offers calculated together but weighted based on market cap for that coin?  Similar to the dji, s&p or vanguard total market index, you follow?

There are advantages and disadvantages of course in this as in anything but I think it could be beneficial in protecting from major down spikes of certain coins.  Also diversification across the market to help gains when all the coins are up trending.
