Ok, so in light of Barry Silbert's tweet

"What bitcoin skeptics fail to appreciate is that senior decision makers at many major consumer tech companies are all trying incorporate BTC"

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to which company will be first?

I would tend to disagree with this statement, at least from the events of the past. Haven't really seen the expected uptick of adoption by major techies. Honestly, a guess here would be a stab in the dark - most of the giants (i.e Newegg, Amazon) have said they are 'looking' into it but I'm not that expectant that they'll follow through. Even if they do - it'll be converted back to fiat.

It would be nice if Google would add BTC as payment option for their play store to test, for buying apps, in app purchases, etc.

newegg
amazon
thats 2 companies that dont use bitcoin right now

tigerdirect
overstock
aria
thats 3 companies that do.. just off the top of my head.. but then we add: https://bitpay.com/directory to the mix and have 20,000+ that do aswell.

so what lack of uptake are you missing?

It could be apple.

It is very unlikely IMO. Apple doesn't like bitcoin.

Google although I think it will be something small that they just test around with for one of their smaller services at first.  If things go well they could expand it or simply create their own since they have the skills and talent to probably make a cryptocurrency with a lot of improvements over bitcoin.

Just a guess on my part, nothing more.

I would love to see Apple incorporate BTC into iTunes where you can use it to purchase music.  That and/or Google would be great for the future of BTC.

Apple wouldn't incorporate BTC into their ecosystem in a trillion years.

If they allow it, what fools are going to buy those 3 pack $10 Itunes cards you see at every cash register checkout line!   Cheesy
