Lite coin wallet

Hi there I'm interested in getting in to lite coins but don't really know where to start. I've downloaded a wallet called litecoin-qt and can't seem to figure it out. So I was wondering if there is a wallet similar to how coin base works with bitcoin available for lite coins? Obviously I want a trusted and reliable wallet. If you guys have any information for me I would really appriciate it. Thanks.

Check litecointalk forum, they are developing electrum wallet for LTC, I used it personally and its pretty much great.

I used multibit for bitcoin which saves downloading the whole blockchain. The electrum wallet for LTC might have the same advantage.
