Russian citizens can now pay their bills for internet and mobile phones with Bitcoin. Megafon, Beeline and other popular operators now accept Bitcoins through such services as Cryptonator and 7pay.in. Such services can make BitcoinCT r:  10 more attractive for ordinary Russian users.

It's good news even if I don't understand anymore what the hell is going on on Russia , I thought they banned bitcoin  Huh

This is a very good news!! Banned?ultimately they get a lot of false information on Russia by the media (especially the American media)

Yes great news!  Anytime Bitcoin becomes an option as payment, especially for utilities, it is a win!  I too thought I heard about Russia banning it but thought it was just a press statement and not anything that actually had legs.

I love Bitcoin

If bitcoin is banned over russia how this gonna work.  Huh
I think those banning is only for the exchanger rather than using bitcoin. I can also pay mobile bill or can do topup from bitcoin directly and most of the country can do it with bitrefill and piko like services but good to see russians paying internet bills. Cheesy
In 2014 the Bank of Russia issued a statement on bitcoin usage in which it was characterized as money substitute banned in Russia.
In February 2014, Russia's Prosecutor General's Office claimed that bitcoin is a money substitute and "cannot be used by individuals or legal entities".
In September 2014, Deputy Finance Minister Aleksey Moiseev announced that a law will be passed by Spring 2015.

More info at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country#Russia

Long story short, apparently Russia lifted ban of bitcoin in 2015 people are free to use it as they please. So it is good news, I am awaiting this type of services in every country next.

Russia has been jumping back and forth between banning and accepting it. The politicians has been sending out mixed signals from the start...  I am glad these businesses are

doing this, but at the same time I feel sorry for them. Doing Bitcoin business in Russia under those uncertain circumstances is going to take balls.  We need more companies

with balls in other countries to step up and do the same for Bitcoin to succeed.

You close your post just with what I was going to ask. I have read here that Bitcoin was going to be banned (or was banned) in Russia. It seems it is not so after all, and that makes me glad, but sounds really strange.

It's really cool to be honest and kinda raise more awareness to let people know or use bitcoin.

A scam will be a scam.
It won't sustain in long run, cause they can't make $ for you at all, they don't have any business model or investment plans to make money grows.
All they did is use other people's $ to pay other users, so those who earned $ is just from other victims... in short a vicious cycle.
People KNEW, but they just dump their $ in hoping for a miracle.

Maybe I have to give another example for people who can't understand.
It's like- Going down to dirty sewers looking for fresh air.
