Well since we have to participate in this forum first i figured... may as well get a feel for how im doing so far Smiley

so im trying a card out from a friend to see how this whole thing plans out, and building a new rig in my mind hoping to find a good deal on some good cards (5970's or just going for the 7970/7990 when available, and going with fewer cards to start out).

So here is what i have so far.

a 6950 reference card that i have poped the shaders open on. i am currently getting ~390mh average on this card running at 1115mv 906mhz and 975 mem... not sure how well this is, but ive only been tweeking with it for about a day so far, going to continue trying to squeeze more out and see how i can pull more out with less power...

I am currently running this on my gaming rig which is an older Q9650 machine with a bunch of drives and random other things.

So to you experienced persons, mind giving me some pointers?

AMD or intel for procs?

Single core or multi core procs?

Which would be your most recommended mobo?

also thinking about an interesting water cooling system using the tap with a water to water heat exchanger to reduce the power needed to run my system... sketching this out in my mind.. also would be nice to not hear the fans haha

any way.. thanks for all the great info you guys have here, and i hope to be a contributing member over the lifespan of my new lil hobby
