Hey there, yes I know I am a brand new member but I really really need $150USD to pay for advertising for my Minecraft server. We make a positive income per month but due to some unforeseen issues I had to use the excess money we usually use for advertising to hire a Dev. Due to finals donations have been a bit slack this month aswell and due this has put us in a bad position as we seriously need some advertising to keep players flowing into the server.

First off what's the name of your server so people can see that you have a large player base. Secondly, relying on player donations is in no way a steady income.

DiplomacyCraft... We used to be one of the largest Faction servers own the market, after a split we closed down for a few months. Before we renamed ourselves we where NovaFactions (300players on at most times). As a note more players != more donations and I'm happy to share my donation information to show that it is a steady income and I can pay back this loan, even if it involves getting some of my own money IRL.

In my opinion that collateral is very high risk as not easily sellable...

All depends on the size of the server and what people get for those donations.
I've seen servers charge 50 - 100 dollars for an unban and some people do spend that.

Also, charging for various special in-game items brings a fair amount of money.

It is actually quite likely. I am an Owner on a decently large server, and for instance, today it took in $100 of donations. You shouldn't underestimate how much people will spend on Minecraft, we have 10+ VIPs and VIP costs $25 more each time a new one is made. The last VIP to be made was someone who reached $1000 total donations and is currently sitting at around $1400 total donations as our top donator.

Yeah, I mean I currently run two small servers [my signature takes you to our forums], but looking at his site, I say it is unlikely.
There are some Minecraft servers that can easily pull that amount in donations in the course of a few days, but I'm saying that I'm not seeing it with his.

Is there a reason you didn't post this on a Minecraft forum?  Or ask family or friends?
