I'm totally new with mining, I would like to build some scrypt experience with a single gtx750 (not the Ti),

- What application should I use with this card, sgminer or another one?

- Are there any specific configuration I should use with this card?

Any hint or a link to a guide is appreciated thanks.

Only AMD cards use sgminer. Nvidia cards need Cudaminer (old) or CCminer. Use ccminer for newer algos like X11, X13, X15 and less common ones.

You won't get anywhere with scrypt, it's a dying algorithm that really only ASIC mining farms use now. Very few coin releases on scrypt these days, and we're thankful. Heats up GPU, eats power like crazy, low hash rates, not a good algo.

X11, X13, X15 are the newer algos, in that order. I'd recommend MAIA X15 which is reasonably profitable at the moment.
MAIA - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=667250.0

Or something older/more stable like DarkCoin, TalkCoin, or JackpotCoin.

Configuration is not complicated with ccminer (like with the sgminer/AMD cards), very simple. My batch is: ccminer.exe -a x15 -o stratum+tcp://maia.suprnova.cc:3453 -u xxxx.1 -p xxxxxxxxxx
Use a separate application (eg. nVidiaInspector) to overclock your card, but watch the temps.

Sign up for a pool (eg. maia.suprnova.cc), mine, transfer the coins to the coins wallet, or transfer them to an exchange and sell for Bitcoins/BTC (recommended).

I have several 270x/AMD, and one 750ti. 750 is similar, just a little less hash and higher power use I believe. You won't make megabucks with a single card, but for hobby use its just fine.

In regards to miners, look at the mining subforum - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0
In regards to what coins to mine, look at announcements - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

That's about all I can tell you, though if you get stuck feel free to shoot me a PM.

One last thing. Don't trust anyone around here too much. 1 in 5 people here are filthy scammers. The rest are generally good people for the most part. But there's no way to tell. Post count, stars, mod status etc is not any indication.

Thanks for your nice answer and for the hints!

The problem is the profitability right now is really bad. Every algo falls pretty badly.
