Also, how many William Gibson books have you read?
How many times have you seen Hackers? Pirates of Silicon Valley?
Built a Gentoo system?

The world is progressively getting more high-tech, and I wonder why Cyberpunk genre isn't getting more popular in movies/games, this is enormous universe to build upon.

None of the above, but I'm always on the look out for decent books. Is Neuromancer worth reading?

And what does this have to do with speculation?
I think Neil Stephenson is much better than Gibson.  Snow Crash kicks ass.

This.  Also, built a gentoo system is the only one I can say yes to.

Well, I like Deus Ex, as is apparent from my avatar.

I've always thought your avatar felt Deus Ex-ish. I've been a fan since 2000. The first game was stunning. The new one is quite good as well. This is awesome to see so many fellow Deus Ex'ers here. My avatar has been of JC Denton for the last couple weeks. But right now it appears to not be showing up.

Edit: There we go, back again.

Major fan of all the Gibson and Stephenson stuff. I also wouldn't say Snow Crash was better than Neuromancer; merely different (and it takes itself a lot less seriously, e.g. the Deliverator). Are there any other good cyberpunk books you'd recommend? I liked Walter Jon Williams' Hardwired, but that was about his only true cyberpunk.

Yes, that was my problem with Snow Crash over Neuromancer. Snow Crash felt like a flat out joke/parody, I was imagining silly 2015 from Back To the Future Part 2, every couple pages. Neuromancer on the other hand felt relatively realistic.

Have a look at the number of replies Wink It's kind of awesome that a Cybercurrency created by Cypherpunks could lure Cyberpunks in to trading, I just had to ask the question with the vibes I was getting from this forum. Not disappointed at all.

It shows up for me.

Mine is the MJ-12 symbol. Somehow I liked it, and the statue of theirs.

I have to say I didn’t play Deus Ex HR though, but I certainly will, as it looks like it’s as good as the first game. Smiley

Yes, I recognized the mj-12 symbol. Always enjoyed that statue. I would say DXHR it is almost as good as the original. It is so damn close, but I'm picky about a couple things. I've already played it two and a half times though so I can't complain too much.
