Hey guys,

I've been looking into ways of compressing Live linux persistent space. I've looked into compressing with squashfs and mounting an unionfs overlay for write support but that requires hacking boot scripts etc. After researching a bit I've just seen that btrfs supports lzo compression ? Has anyone tried this ? I'm now going to trial on a copy of linuxcoin. I'll keep people informed Wink

I jus tested this. It works, but the ratio of compression is not very good. Between 15% and 25% with lzo, but the time to compress grows a lot, sometimes to 6 times to the normal write ratio.
