A healthy number of ‘full’ bitcoin nodes (those running the bitcoin core client on a machine instance with the complete block chain) are required to maintain and secure bitcoin’s distributed network.

However, the total number of full nodes has declined in recent months and encouraging an uptake in node provisioning has proven difficult.

Enter Fullnode, a project aiming to make it simpler for bitcoiners willing to tackle this growing problem.

cool project. i wish they could lower the price to 5 USD and i would do it. maybe in the future...

anyway i adopted one  ! but how can i name it? after i adopted the node, i couldnt do something.

one entity (the supplier) hosting all of these and in full control, is defeating the purpose of why nodes are suppose to exist.

Decentralized public ledger.

the supplier is trying to centralise the ledger.. even if he puts them on different ports and IP addresses, its all still in one single physical location with one single physical controller.

Morblias is actually helping out people for free to make things easy. But, I doubt, how far a node provides extra support for the network ? Nodes will ultimately relay a Tx, but miners are responsible to include it in a block. We already have enough nodes. Mining should be more distributed. We are having polarization in the mining front.

p.s. Probably some better version of Abe will help in growing more API services too, which is required.

It is a non-profit that is offering this "service" so in theory they are not profiting from this.

They also likely want to diversify their suppliers of instances of cloud computing as having them all on amazon EC2 would lead to centralization

My computer uses a full node but it's nice to see a community project to have more nodes around
One of the real concerns with Bitcoin is the lack of incentive to build nodes but if you can name it then who knows some people might go for that idea haha.

The project wants to integrate a variety of provider pools to permit a more geographically distributed network. Linode and DigitalOcean have locations in North America, Singapore, the Netherlands, Japan and the United Kingdom. Weinberger has plans to integrate Google Compute Engine, which would add a few more locations to the list.

This is nice though since we need more Africa nodes.

nodes are meant to be decentralized as that's how the network becomes secure,

but one service housing and controlling the nodes is centralizing it!!!

It's not "adopt a node", it's "fund a node". I have a full node running and would love for someone to adopt mine
