Gigabytes are a bit stronger for the same price. The extra PCIe power connection allows for more headroom for overclocking (if you're into BIOS flashing etc). I have one of both in my small rig, and I must say, I'd buy another Gigabyte if I would invest again
But yes, the EVGA has more resell value since you need no PCIe power connections, so you could sell it to your neighbor who has a crappy onboard VGA and can't stream his full HD movies anymore
So, they look on par. Just go with the GPU you think is the most beautiful
Aesthetics are important too.
