I've seen pictures of old versions of the bitcoin wallet and it appears to have a "generate coins" option, why is this option no longer around?

Solo mining is no longer worthwhile and there are better/more-efficient miners available.

That's about the most easily-basic miner that I've seen work on any Windows machine.
What miners have you tried so far?

Also, Eligius is a mining pool that doesn't need registration, just a valid Bitcoin address.

Or simply use p2pool. Eligius?  Roll Eyes

It was a CPU miner. Useless, mining bitcoin with CPU is simply a waste of time and power.

It was a suggestion. I think that Eligius is very simple mining pool.
