WARNING! CLASS 4 LASER READ ME

Class 4 Lasers

Class 4 is the highest and most dangerous class of laser, including all lasers that exceed the Class 3B AEL. By definition, a class 4 laser can burn the skin, or cause devastating and permanent eye damage as a result of direct, diffuse or indirect beam viewing. These lasers may ignite combustible materials, and thus may represent a fire risk. These hazards may also apply to indirect or non-specular reflections of the beam, even from apparently matte surfaces—meaning that great care must be taken to control the beam path.

Wanna see what they can do?

Looks awesome, but I've never seen such a powerful laser, are you sure it's really 50,000mW (50W)?

I suspect it's actually 5,000mW (5W), as most videos/writeups I've seen talk about the most powerful handheld lasers being 5-10W. Please could you double-check the power rating?

I'm still interested, watching this thread.  Smiley

Yes, 50 watts (50,000mW) is horseshit. These lasers are likely in the 1-2W range. Possibly lower depending on the diode used.

This seems high for a handheld laser. Also I don't think customs will allow this into the US as it is. I agree it is probably 5W max.

Oh wow I just misread it too because there was no comma. You probably have one too many zeros, because those batteries will not supply a 50,000mW to the laser. Also that housing does not look like it can dissipate ~50w of heat.

Thanks for the headup guys, did some research on Google...

Total typo wreck here, sorry for the confusion, the supplier I found "advertised" his products @ <50000mW. I researched on lasers with Google, 50000 mW is not the REAL output! Most countries ban anything over 1 mW, think customs would have a field day with a "50000mW hand held laser, LOL

Actual output is about 1.5W though. Although I did not add < as the supplier actually added <50000mW.
