bitcoin will be the real irrational exuberance of our time since the dot com boom...
but this time the party is not confined to America alone... all countries will participate in this rational exuberance.

The dotcom boom would be the altcoins. Bitcoin itself would be the telecom monopolies like Verizon, U-Verse and Comcast.

It's going to be a sight to see when that happens imagine all of the people celebrating from around the world Bitcoin would finally be written into history as being one of the most revolutionary piece of technology.

All assets will eventually over value and go bust.
Benefit and usage will still be there, except much cheaper.

Moments of "irrational exuberance" can occur with "rational" assets: real estate (for example).
I find the exuberance for bitcoin (and technologies like it) to be completely rational, and at the moment; understated, undervalued and misunderstood.

maybe that's the case with the rest of the world, but the bitcoin evangelists that i see here and otherwise.. are a little bit irrational. some people think bitcoin will eventually overtake currency and be a world standard for currency.

The dotcom bubble is tons and tons of shitty altcoins with no original innovation that prey on the foolishness of the general masses (since only the elite can comprehend the genius behind BTC).

yeah, that might fit better.. dotcom boomers came to the party a little late, and they were in it for the get-rich-quick schemes. same goes for altcoins.. i see a lot of "broke" people who are holding onto those nonamecoins.

Except a lot of altcoins are based on the same code as bitcoin. The mainm difference is the marketing

All those altcoins trade against Big Daddy Bitcoin.

The reason for some of the bitcoin evangelism is that our current money systems (mainly fiat money) is not working. We've grown accustomed to its dysfunction and we all need to believe that all is well and functioning smoothly (confidence playing a larger role in value than most will acknowledge). I see bitcoin as having the potential to be A world currency although not likely THE. There are some issues with bitcoin but there are also issues with fiat...long known and many times repeated.

Irrational exuberance for a $8 billion market cap? Do you know how many companies that were absolutely worthless were valued above this during the dot-com boom?

you seem to have real experience of the dot com boom... I was a kid back then... can you please explain further! and tell how will be the crypto economy in such a boom scenario During the dot com boom, companies with no profit were value at hundreds of millions that offer products and services that no one will use. The scenario with alt coin is similar. Do you hear much about any alt coin being used anywhere by anyone except for speculation purposes?
