Looks like the most bashed "altcoin", Ripple even with it's 90% premine, has relatively held its $40million marketcap compared to the other top 5 coins, which all came crashing down, Litecoin lost around half it's marketcap in less than a month, Dogecoin lost more than half it's marketcap in a month, NXT lost half, and Peercoin lost half. Odd isn't it?

If litecoin falls it could get to second place in the rankings.

wrong, it had already lost a lot of Marketcap prior to this general drop.

Back in 2013 Coinmarketcap did not filter away non-available supply so Ripple had something like a 4+ billion capitalization in late December.  Now it's like 450 million (8x-10x loss) total supply.  Imagine if you bought at top of that bubble?  That's worse than buying into $1200 BTC and bagholding at $500.

Everything is relative. Ripple still holding the top spot relatively well.

I'd say that BistSharesX is holding its marketcap best of all (staying above $20 million), number 5.

Litecoin seems to be going down, more downfalls and people will give up.

So as OP stated, it will come higher.

Recently Ripple (XRP) has been added to Poloniex, let's see if this is the beginning of a new rise.

Exactly, it dropped a shedload of its value in the months leading up to the current crash.

Darkota likes to take moments in time and pass them as long-term trends.

He'd make a terrible scientist, but a great "man down the pub".

Ripple is a PoS coin like Nxt and Ethereum. Being PoS and 100% premined didn't stop people from buying at the IPO price.

I really wish Ripple didn't have such a massive premine. It really has some great innovations and it has firmly established itself in the market with lots of business relationships with traditional financial services.

Alas, the 80% of the total coincap that is held by the founders will forever be Ripple's albatross.
