Well, that's a good choice that Apple has done to re-add it. Good on ya, Apple.

I've already left apple for this sole reason. I have now realised how much better android is, although it is extremely insecure, as one bad apk downloaded means all your wallet passwords would be stolen and used. Thats why I don't keep any more than 0.01 on my phone wallet at any time. I use xapo.com's vault for long-term storage.

Haahhaa, so you're telling me that Android isn't sandboxing the access for 3rd party apps to other 3rd party apps? Wow, what a security flaw right there! I just thought Android as ugly as the night, but that takes the story to a whole new level...

Imagine the bank they could have made if they set it to a .99 price, hehe. If 100K users bought it...

Good to hear it , using the old blockchain app for now.  Grin

I heard of Bither and another wallet app, bitwallet.

The new blockchain.info app for the iPhone is more secure. It forces you to setup a pin that you must enter anytime you open the app. So if someone were to steal your phone they will not be able to steal your BTC.

You must be kidding. Bither is far more secure. You can take a look at this thread.

Apple caved in due to crypto trend. If they don't, they will increase the speed of losing smart phone market.

It sounds a lot like you are making the argument to stay with apple. If android phones are insecure then why use them? Your BTC is only one of many things that could get stolen if an attacker were to gain access to your phone (sensitive information on your phone like text messages, banking information, pictures, your geo-location, potentially your identity).

Apple is sort of a joke as a company.

A joke with an incredible amount of influence and an incredible amount of assets...

I think what they are doing now will matter more then what they have done in the past. If they allow BTC wallets now then people will be able to buy, use and spend bitcoin that have an iPhone.

As long as IOS will be more secure then Android and Windows, Apple will have any interest in encouraging people to use cryptos: it will mean people will be forced to buy apple just to sleep sweet dreams.

Yes they are more secure...but mostly because of their product not being sold as much.  Yes apple OS is built on a unix background so its slightly better.  The fact of the matter is though, people don't hack it as much because there isn't enough of them out there to be a big hit

iPhone users are generally wealthier then android users and the iPhone is a better selling phone then any one model of android based phones. The reason why more people use android then iOS is because so many manufacturers make android based phones.

I think that overall iPhones are much more secure then android phones, however you need to trust any dev of any app that you install that will have any amount of your bitcoin on that phone.

Iphone is just way over price compare to other phones if you factor in the monthly service fee that locked you in for 2 years.

I personally didn't upgrade to the 5s and instead went with a galaxy.

Surprising that a company that views themselves progressive like apple would shut bitcoin out. I figured they would be the 1st to adopt it.

Maybe I will be back for 6s now that more and more apps are coming out for apple
