With upgrade kits (such as that for Ant S1) the producer should send each component separately. Packages under 25 EUR are VAT free. The advantage is more than just not paying the VAT. Packages subject to VAT require documentation, and often you need to go to an office and queue up for a while. Else you can have DHL/FedEx do it for a hefty fee, and often they call and ask for all kind of documentations. A small VAT free package is much simpler. You pick it up at your local post office. That's all.

The downside is that small packages are sent with China / HK Post which takes about three weeks.

I really hope Bitmain will offer this. Or at least some smart Chinese people will buy from Bitmain and sell parts on Aliexpress.
