BitPay, a Bitcoin payment processing company, has announced last Friday that it hopes to have 100 local businesses accepting the digital currency in time for the Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl on Dec. 26.

St. Petersburg Museum of History becomes one of the first Museums to accept Bitcoin with this initiative. The city now has Museum tickets, beer, Hotel stays and hamburgers for purchase....

Sounds like this is an updated account of the expansion of growth that is expected leading up to this bowl game. I have family that live down there and I know for a fact they probably have no idea about Bitcoin, much less have any. As I've mentioned before, until discounts become synonymous w/ purchasing w/ Bitcoin then I don't really see the draw for usage outside of like minded people like us unless or until the price rallies.
