I have a problem when using the RPi as mining controller. No matter which firmware or mining hardware I use, I get the same problem - no accepted shares, and 100% discarded work.

I tried the BTC Garden AM-V1 miner with the RPi that came with it. Everything was set up correctly, and I can log onto the RPi through web browser and SSH. My pool/worker information was also correct, but it would not submit any shares at all.

On the web interface, it can get work, but discards everything, and shows lots of hardware errors (over 10k in a couple of minutes).

Using the cgminer software directly through SSH, it keeps showing "Error submitting nonce" or something like that.
Here is the summery after stopping cgminer:

[2014-06-23 08:41:05] ********** chip 0 **********
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] total works: 16
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] have nonce works: 0 (0.000000%)
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] no noce works: 16 (100.000000%)
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] total nonces: 0
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] local rejected nonces: 56
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] consecutive errors: 0
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] max consecutive errors: 16
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] hardware errors: 16
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] average hardware errors: 0.999985
[2014-06-23 08:41:05] total hibernate time: 30s
(Every other chip was the same, so omitted.)

I also get the exact same problem when mining Scrypt coins with the Zen Controller (RPi with Zenminer firmware) - everything is discarded.

Here are my network settings for the RPi and router:

RPi:
IP - 172.31.99.99
SM - 255.255.0.0
Gateway - 172.31.1.1 (router IP)
DNS - 172.31.1.1

Router (Zyxel Q1000Z):
IP - 172.31.1.1
SM - 255.255.0.0
DNS - Default (assigned by ISP)
DHCP is in the range of 172.31.0.1 to 172.31.0.255, so no conflict.
(I tried 2 different routers, same problem, so router is not the cause.)

It seems that the miner can get work, but can't submit it, hence discarded. I don't know if it's a basic network/setting problem, or something else more complicated. Anyway, this has been pure frustration for me...
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Tried, same problem.
It was already on the correct subnet with .99.99 because the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0, not 255.255.255.0.

Maybe the Pi can only accept class C IP, or can't use router as DNS?
Very strange, because the Antminer S1 works perfectly fine with any 172.31.x.x IP address...
