Can anyone recomend a good pgp app for android?
I found openkeychain on play store, has anyone used this and if so does it work well and safe, or is there any better ones?

Apart from openkeychain there's a couple of others to choose from:

GPG for Android
https://guardianproject.info/code/gnupg/

APG
http://www.thialfihar.org/projects/apg/

Haven't actually used either of these apps but they are recommended on Prism Break

That isn't okay, really. There is no need for accessing photo albums and all, unless the app encrypt such files too. Do the app do such thing? Otherwise, it isn't a good idea. Better not to risk it.

Anybody know any iOS PGP app? It should be available in India too.

Thanks, didn't think it sounded good.
Openkeychain also wanted premission to access photo album, which i thought was strange, also needed accsess to contacts list and calander too. Just pgp program shouldn't need all that, should it?
Haven't had time to look but do u know what folders the ones you listed need access to?

I looked almost all PGP app for Android, every app's permissions are almost same, access to library, sd card, contacts etc... I think they support file encryption too like encrypting contacts, images etc... Reviews are good though. So you can also test it. Try to install a tracking app before installing this, so you can know where there is any anonymous uploading.

Don't think I would put too much trust in using PGP on Android. Smart phones in general tend to leak a lot of personal information through apps etc. unless you're being really careful and restricting permissions on each and every app installed.

+1. Anyway, smart phones can be used for encrypting and verifying. We can just import public key and then use it for encrypting and all. You know, for simpler purposes. Roll Eyes
