Is there a way to move the blockchain file?

This isn't just for BTC, but any coin in general...
After a break of just hodling bitcoin, I want to diversify my investments a bit, but don't wanna bog my ssd bootdrive down with blockchain files. Is there a way to move the blockchain file onto a different drive? I have a 1tb WDD black I could use, that's in my system, but IDK how to move it... Any help is appreciated!

Yes, you can set up a data directory for bitcoin with the -datadir= command line option.  See details here:

As for any other altcoins, you'd have to check on each of them individually.  Some may implement similar options.  Some may not. That's a question you'll have to ask in the alt-coin forum specifically for each one you are interested in.

for BTC and LTC, I use electrum as I don't want to bog myself down with the block chain. Guess I'll have to look in individually for each altcoin.

You don't need to move the blockchain if you are using Electrum. Electrum doesn't store the blockchain.

Essentially I guess, but it applies to Bitcoin. I used a lite wallet to just bandaid fix it essentially.
