Just curious if anyone has any insights into what is the best coin and or algo for CPU mining. I don't pay for electric and I keep my computer on all the time and wouldn't mind a using my idle CPU for a little something!

Cuckoo Cycle is designed to be ideal for CPU mining by minimizing computation and maximizing random memory access latency. It uses 3 orders of magnitude more memory than scrypt while being instantly verifiable.

See https://github.com/tromp/cuckoo for details...

I do love yac and did back in the day but it's too old now and not very profitable as far as I can tell. I'll have to check out those others.

I've been watching monero but I think they just had a security issue if I remember correctly. Also they do have GPU miners.
