hiya, I run win 7 64bit, as my miner/gamer (hence win7) I use guiminer on a 5870, with the 12-3 driver pack, I have some of my dvd's backed up as .avi files, which is easyer for me, But when I play (on MPC build-1.6.2.4485) Either two things happen, 1) vedeo stops, exits and re-opens to play the rest (also louder volume?) but in guiminer says connection problems, Just a simple stop/start gets it going again, Or 2) guiminer uses GPU at full speed but only gets 140mhs (about half I guess) and wont use fully untill a system re-start.

I have used other media players to get simular results, I do use -v -w128 -f 100, changing them has no effect (other than the hash rate changing slightly)

Just a bit stumped, I stop it to play games and all is good when I start it mining again.

Ideas?

I'm in no way an expert, but video players most likely want to use the GPU for decoding the video or at least updating the CPU decoded frames on the screen in real-time. That leads to problems because multiple software is trying to use the GPU, and in the best situation you'll always see a drop in the hashing speed.

This seems the case, I just wondered as there are alot of people that use combo of miners/media centers, might be something i'm not setting up right.
