Under a 2006 FEC rule, free political videos and advocacy sites have been free of regulation in a bid to boost voter participation in politics. Only Internet videos that are placed for a fee on websites, such as the Washington Examiner, are regulated just like normal TV ads.

Ravel’s statement suggests that she would regulate right-leaning groups like America Rising that posts anti-Democrat YouTube videos on its website.

FEC Chairman Lee E. Goodman, a Republican, said if regulation extends that far, then anybody who writes a political blog, runs a politically active news site or even chat room could be regulated. He added that funny internet campaigns like “Obama Girl,” and “Jib Jab” would also face regulations.

“I told you this was coming,” he told Secrets. Earlier this year he warned that Democrats on the panel were gunning for conservative Internet sites like the Drudge Report.

The liberal charade can't hold water when people actually have access to outside information that poke holes in their propaganda network. They love that their mainstream media keeps a lid on what and how to report on many things because the vast majority of the american boobs/drones get their nightly/weekly one liners of info from the MSM. The MSM also showcases the popular shows and sporting events that keep the boobs mentally occupied leaving very little room for personal research or fact finding. That's the wonderful thing about The Drudge Report. Drudge links to almost everything and exposes the liberals for the frauds that they are. The liberals conduct their business much like the propaganda outlet in North Korea does and clearly wants to head down that road of regulation and censorship. So, whether it's outright lying or obfuscating of the truth, the MO behind the liberal media and their political sidekicks is almost never done in honesty or integrity. It's disgusting.

It sounds like that the liberals want to limit as to where voters can get their information from. Once sites are no longer able to hold the MSM accountable to misreporting facts or being overly biased then it would be much easier for the liberals to coerce the MSM to be even more liberal then they are now.

@Chef - I think the MSM does actually believe in what they report about the liberal agenda. They do not side with liberals 100% of the time (although the percent is closer to 100 then it should be).
