I can't promise you that your investment will go up but choose a coin where there are multiple developers all who have verified public identities and your risk of being scammed by and rewarding the serial coin scammers who are destroying crypto, will go down tremendously.  There are only a handful of coins that fit this metric so do your research and stick within that group.

A very short list offhand is as follows, you may add others that fit.  Litecoin, Darkcoin, Feathercoin, Dogecoin, and Vericoin.

All coins are scams.  Follow that rule and you will be just fine.

Essentially, people need to have some kind of assurance that the person behind the coin is not going to simply abandon the project once they have created a pump in which to sell everything that they own.  Virtually every anonymous dev coin is launched for this primary purpose, for the developer to dump all his coins to you so he can then make a new name and create the exact same coin again with a new name and slightly different marketing angle.  The only way to stop this is for everyone here to only purchase coins from publicly known ID'd developers.  Force the coin launchers to out themselves before launching their new coin by never buying any new anon dev's coin.  Once the scammers realize that the anon gig is up they abandon their current coin clone factories that are killing this nascent technology.

uno is waiting for you to understand and act accordingly. Those coins are still cheap.

Honest longterm-coins are going to moon in the long run.
