Server Rack to manage website and miners.

Hi all

I will like to build a nice server rack to fit some of my miners and also 1 or 2 server to host website.

I will like to know what I need to have a secure and good server setup.

What kind of network switch?
What kind of surge control power bar?
Is there some nice all in one rack ?
Which kind of AC I need?

Everything related to server rack and website management.

it all depends on the scale of your business, but if you are going big and as I see you have no idea what you are doing , you better outsource this job or hire a professional to do it for you.

I will like to learn. It's a house project and the purpose of this project is to learn so I will not hire someone for it.

Can you give more information?

Do you mean miner as in a computer attempting to mine for btc? Or just a full node?

What sort of traffic will the website be seeing?

I will have 1 or 2 small website.
I also have a zeusminer and looking for a SP10.

Im wondering which kind of switch to put in a server rack. Managed or unmanaged.
Which kind of power bar.

Do I need a spoofer?

Supermicro is good or Dell of IBM or ....

For the cabinets, Norcon, Tripp lite or startech ??

Do I need something special to protect it ?

Managed switches are better if you need more granular VLAN, QoS and switching configuration or if you have to troubleshoot something. For a home server farm I'm not sure if you need all of these functions.

Both Supermicro Dell or IBM are good. IBM is a bit expensive. You might wanna take a look at Lenovo servers.

One more thing. Maybe buying a UPS could be a good option. Keeping your servers powered is just one thing but as most of those things has surge and overvoltage protection you don't have to care about the rest of the power distribution, and that can simplify your design.

PS.: Almost forgot to mention. Firewall. As you are running some web services you will need a firewall. Depending on your budget that could be an opensource solution like pFsense of something fancy commercial stuff like a Cisco ASA.

Well the ASA is a little bit expensive. If I manage to host some site I will check but I will start with pfsense.
I saw blazeout249 using a small supermicro 5015a-h with pfsense on it. I will probably do something like that.

The UPS I guess its to be sur to get battery in case of energy problem? If so, I'm running a part of my stuff on solar so 

To make a small resume.

I Need:
1- A cabinet
2- ASA (Pfsense)
3- UPS Sureg protector
4- Switch (unmanaged or managed)
5- Server.

So cabinet must be minimum 4u will check for a 12u.

Do you have any good recommandation for silent cabinet? I need to have the most silent setup
