bitcointalk.org does not open at my home computers :(

I wonder if someone here can help me with this (maybe kind of off topic) issue:

I have been visiting this Bitcoin Forum almost daily since months ago. No problems, I love it here.

But lately I have been having this problem: There are some times when the bitcointalk.org website gets very slow to load, and ends up not loading at all At these moments I try other websites, and even watch youtube videos, without any problem (with a single exception: I've noticed that in these same moments the bitcoinwisdom.com does not load either )

I have tried from other computers at home, as well as from my tablet, and none would load those same websites.

But then, I've been to a friend's computer, and it loaded them normally

Moments (hours) later, the Bitcoin Talk (and the Bitcoin Wisdom) website returns to loading normally as if there was no problem.

I know that my Internet provider is sh1t (well, i'm, in Brazil, it's the rule to receive a sh1t internet service here, anyway), but at least it's usable.

Searching for a solution, I have experimented changing my router's DNS IPs: tried google's, all the same; now I'm using 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

Phoned my ISP, and they said its not a problem from their side...

Is it only me? Does anyone have a possible solution for it? (Please, because, as I am kind of addicted to it here, it is always a pain not being able to come )

Did you try using a VPN/proxy to access bitcointalk when it was offline for your ISP connection? It might be your ISP fooling around and blocking bitcoin related stuff during those occurances..

Can you try in another computer,  so you can be sure wether you are being trolled by your computer or by the network? Or at least try life Linux.

Also might be whoever is in charge of your network blocking bitcoin stuff.

Anyway, use Tor to visit the forum and be happy

You should perform some speed tests of your internet connection to your a server in your own country and then to various other countries. After a few tests at different times of the day to different servers, you should find out whether it is the internet connection or your own computer.

Well, from your answers I am able to eliminate the possibiity of it being a BTC Talk problem (I needed to be sure about it). So it might be something related to my ISP or my computers/router.

I'll investigate the issue around here.

Do a tracert on the IP to see where the problem is occuring.

Also does your internet service give you a new IP everytime you disconnect your router? If so try disconnecting your router for 10 minutes and then reconnect. IDK how often IP bans are used on these forums, but that is another possibility if your IP was previously used to spam

Run your favourite text editor as administrator, go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and open hosts.
Next add this to the bottom:

Click save and restart your computer. I'm not sure if this would work though.

Hi, I am connected right now using A PROXY (sumrando .com). I am still not being able to connect directly from any of my home computers, though...

It may just be that the site is under a DDOS attack thus slowing down the website, It went slow for me the other night but has been fine ever since.

There's a few reasons why this might be happening, but it's quite possibly your ISP.

Blocked/Restricted websites on internet options.  
I don't believe there is a built in feature for chrome to block individual sites so it may be a extension you have installed. Otherwise, Firefox does have a built in feature in the options.

Hosts file.

Flushing DNS.
Flushing DNS guide: Link

Remove Extensions.  
Remove any extensions which could be interfering with Bitcointalk.org. If you've added custom blocks on ad block it's possible it's blocking the loading of the websites body.


(This took way too many edits to get the format acceptable...I think it's time for bed. I'll look over it again tommorrow when I'm a little sharper & put in some more solutions too)
