To obtain the funds from the private key import it into the Bitcoin client, or an online web-based client which can use Bitcoin private keys. Such web-based clients are Blockchain.
To import private keys into Blockchain. First, login and then go to Import/Export. Then, paste the private key into Import Private Key. It should look like this
