I am experimenting with signatures. I just want to know what is the problem with ASCII characters.

Are the following ASCII chars?

Is it safe to use them in signatures? Which OS/browsers does not support it?

• (bullet point) does not render if browser detects unicode encoding. The symbol in the last line is somewhat offensive; I would not use it in a signature as it is a way to turn possible buyers away.

I have recently become active again after a long period of inactivity. Cryptographic proof that my account has not been compromised is available.

卍 is The swastika (also known as the gammadion cross or cross cramponnée) is a symbol that generally takes the form of an equilateral cross, with its four legs bent at 90 degrees (as a Chinese character: 卐 or 卍). It is considered to be a very sacred and auspicious symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.

Just google it.

Just because some guy, called Hitler, who doesn't know of its meaning, used it on his own accord, does not make it an offensive symbol.
It is considered sacred in many countries.

Anyway, this is how I used it: (_)ノ-=≡≡

Yes, I am also able to see it in everywhere I tried.
But here are some quotes which is the reason why I am asking this:

Mine works okay, right? I will post the code tmrw. But I don't think I use any ASCII chars.
btw, mine does not use ASCII chars, right?

You are using ASCII chars. You have plenty of them inside of your sig.
If you don't want to use ASCII chars you need to stick to those chars which you see on your keyboard buttons.

On windows 8.1 , chrome :

That's why I did two versions :  Dice+ Flowers     and Flower Only for Chrome Lovers Cheesy

I'm on XP,
But
I suggest that Roslinpl using the common symbol since  not of all people using windows 8.1 (include me  Grin )

2. That's why I did two versions :  Dice+ Flowers     and Flower Only for Chrome/XP Lovers Cheesy

Thanks Grin , but if the OP choose the first one the chrome or XP users will not see it properly .

So I gave the choice to the OP. He can choose second one if he want to.

Thing is that there is NO signature around the forum (with ASCII chars) that works same on XP/7/8  Android/iOS.
Even winner of the latest LedgerWallet contest was obligated to make it works on every OS - but it isn't working Tongue There is no way to make a ASCII chars signature which will work everywhere the same. No way Smiley

The problem is, even I am not able to see the chars used by rosinpl. But he says both of the symbols used by me and him are ASCII. But I have no issues with mine.

Why is that?

This is not a swastika but a Buddhist symbol (the swastika is the mirror image - i.e. to the right not the left) and it is not (nor ever has been) a Chinese character.

If you travel around Asia you'll see the above symbol at many Buddhist temples but you won't see the "swastika" at all (although maybe the swastika symbol had some other European usage before Hitler).

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

Even if it is not truly an offensive symbol, I know many people that would find both the left-facing and right-facing variants offensive, so I'm working off that data.
