Very difficult question.
For normal, happy life, you need some money and good salary but if you are dishonest people will not like you much.
Because of this you will not be happy much, even you have a lot money.
Only money can't bring happiness, relationships with people make real difference in life (children, spouse etc.)

It's not really a question you can answer yourself... if you're poor you have to be honest for your own good. If you're poor you have to rely much on other people and in order to get their help you need to be honest to them. That's why majority of people have to obey the law and rules specific for their country/ region - if they won't, they'll be punished either by jail/ fine or by being banned from community. Rich people don't need to rely on anyone, they have enough money to buy all the services they need so it doesn't matter that much if they're honest or not - thus lot of rich/famous people don't really care about what other people think of them. Honesty is kind of law that most people follow for their own good - they hope that if they're honest to others, others will do the same.

I would have to totally disagree with this point. Many people are happy & live a 'normal' life if there is such a thing on either not working for anyone but themselves, or by doing jobs which are considered low standard by society, for example cleaning, although without the cleaners in hospitals everything wouldn't be sterile and not a safe place to treat people, so the so called high level doctors can't operate correctly.

But to answer the question of the subject, there are two answers. You either pick the moral route or financial route. None of these is better, it's a matter of perception.

Dishonest people don't live long or happily, just look at scammers, bankers, murderers and people who commit fraud, even if they may get away with it for awhile, their own actions will stab them in the back one day.

If you have a conscience that can support your mischievous ways and you feel good with your dishonesty and assholeness that is your way. But I think that every intelligent person will have moral scruples sooner or later and then you will feel your moral hangover. It can be too late then.
