recently I read about bitcoin used a a currency in a minecraft server..

But is this just for fun?

Is there a way to earn some bitcoins?

I guess you can sell accounts items etc for btc.
But you need to be careful and use only escrow services before sending item.

Or you just got scammed.

I'm not aware of anyone giving bitcoin just for playing. Why would they do that? Maybe there is a reason? Most of the projects I have seen to include BTC in games are focused on sales of virtual items or prize money for competitions. For example let's say you are about to play a deathmatch with some friends. Each confident player could put up some funds and the winner takes all at the end.

For me, this is for fun and plus get benefit from my hobby.

One Minecraft server that I can vouch for from personal experience is MinecraftCC Smiley
Great community over there, and you can earn satoshis from mining blocks.

What i heard is you can buy/sell items in-game with bitcoin
But, i think it's just for fun, not for main income.

MinecraftCC does not allow ingame trades with BTC.
