Hi all, I run a small webshop where you can buy Westvleteren 12 beer, often regarded as the best beer in the world and normally very difficult to buy.

Here's a recent article about that explains more than I ever could: http://uk.businessinsider.com/best-beer-in-the-world-westvleteren-xii-2014-12?r=US

You can now buy this beer online with Bitcoin (and other payment methods). BTC payments are handled by Coinbase.

The webshop is very simple, you just order a box of 6 bottles of Westvleteren or you can chose to mix it with a few other Belgian beers. There's no shopping cart and you don't need to create an account.

This beer isn't cheap but considering its reputation and the fact that it costs about the same as medium priced wine, it's a fair price. Stocks are VERY limited !!

If you prefer to order outside of the webshop, just use the contact form and I'll set this up for you. My email is info <--- AT ---> westvleteren-for-sale.com. Let me know if I should prove / verify anything.

Wouldn't there be an issue if you ship it to long distances? DO you accept an escrow for this , as you are a newbie acount ?

Hey, shipping long distance is not a problem. So far I've mainly sold to US customers and a few in Europe. There's a limited list of shipping countries in the order form, but I can basically ship anywhere. Package tracking is available.

I'm open to using escrow, could you explain how this would work, what are the conditions? I guess then the orders would have to be handled outside of the site, which is fine. I have zero interest in scamming people.

Westvleteren 12. Nice  Grin

Still got some bottle of it in my cellar. But for that price I could better order some crates at the Abbey at my self.

Absolutely order if from the Abbey if you're in a position to do so.

FYI my price is quite a lot lower than the other sites you find that charge 30USD per bottle.

Prices seem pretty similar to other Belgian online stores. Shipping to the US (for example) is pretty expensive (per bottle) when shipping a small order. Usually when I've ordered from other sites I'll order 15 or so bottles (depending on size and weight) to have a lower shipping cost per bottle.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Which other stores are you referring to?

I checked some prices on other stores - one comes to 682.9USD for 15 bottles and the other one comes to 554USD for 18 bottles.

In my store you could place 3X orders to get 18 bottles for 387USD. Of course I could set up a single order with 18 bottles so you pay shipping only once. Currently I don't  offer it but if you're interested I could set this up for around 310USD (to be confirmed).

Indeed one of the best beer in the world.

Have drunk it already a few times.
The one in 6 degrees is also very good.

The 6 is indeed also very good. Other hard-to-find beers, including the 6 and 8 will be added in the near future, stay tuned Smiley

I've ordered from Belgium in a Box and Etre Gourmet. My recent BiaB order was 11.50 euros each and Etre is currently 9.53 euros, without shipping (of course). Personally I usually only order a couple Westy 12s though, typically my orders are to stock up on Cantillon.

Just was commenting that smaller orders are usually more expensive per bottle to ship then larger orders. If you are willing to do 15+ bottles and combine shipping, then great.

Cool, thanks for the info. Etre seems to limit at only 3 bottles of the 12 per order. Price per bottle is about the same as mine. Their shipping is also the same as mine but for only half the bottles. BIAB is actually 10EUR more for 6 bottles and I can't find their shipping costs without creating an account ... Thanks again for the info though; didn't know about the Etre shop Smiley

I'll keep you posted about larger orders.

My last BIAB order weighed 14.8kg and cost 64.43 euro shipped to the US. Wasn't all Westy, so it is hard to compare on the total price, but BIAB is definitely not the cheapest out there. Not sure I'll be ordering a bunch of Westy 12s in the future, but figured I'd share the information.
