The community of an altcoin needs to be able to stand toe too toe with the bitcoin community and be a longterm thing to drive their coin to success. You need to have selfesteem and believe in your community and actually work together towards success and attract investors to your projects.

Bitcoin has just fallen with this Gavincoin hardfork bullshit. Get ready for the altpumps and don't hold bitcoin longterm right now!

It doesn't matter how much self-esteem or belief in their coin a community has it's usually just false hope and expectations from people pumping whatever coin they own. People just seem to be delusional about their chosen coin based on absolutely nothing.
