No devices detected

New to script mining and am having a problem setting up a gridseed blade miner under windows 7.

Installed the cables, and when usb plugs from miner are plugged in windows loads the 2 device drivers for each blade nicely "STM32 Virtual COM Port".

I then run cgminer or bfgminer ,  it does not recognize the miner blades "No devices detected!"

Is there something I am missing?

Miner versions? I don't think official cgminer has Gridseed support, while bfgminer needs at least 4.7 if I can remember.
Could be windows drivers too but I don't know anything about windows and mining.
