I would imagine this is the end of BTER.  Two hacks within two months with over $1.5m stolen is not only a massive hit, but proof of incompetent management.  Compare the reaction of BTER to the NXT hack and bitstamp to their hot wallet hack in January.

Bitstamp completely rebuilt their systems, integrated the first multisig wallet with bitgo, and reinforced its community that losses would be compensated each step of the way.  The result being - I personally feel better putting my coin in bitstamp than I did before the hack, as it seems they have adapted and are now amongst the best exchanges from a security standpoint.

Then there is BTER.  They went ahead and did the same thing and expected a different outcome, and in 6 months they get hit again.  The negligence is bordering on criminal
