I used Bitinstant to send $25 USD to my Bitcoin Wallet address.  I'm using Bitcoin Wallet 0.6.3 Beta Client.

Sent: 8/7/2012 21:07

Status 0/unconfirmed

I didn't realize until after the transaction had completed that I should have added a transaction fee of 0.001 BTC, so it was set at 0 by default, maybe this is slowing it down.

I encrypted my wallet before the transaction had completed.  Doesn't look like the wallet is able to be decrypted.

It says that the wallet is encrypted and currently locked, and I am up to date with synchronization to the Bitcoin network.  That took a while but it's done now.

It's been almost an hour and no confirmations.  Any ideas?  Bitcoin seemed like such a great currency.

Thanks,

Nick

patience.  By choosing to not pay the fee, you can expect it to be delayed until it's aged enough to be picked up by a miner as a free transaction.

I would have paid the fee, I just didn't realize it was an option till after the transaction was finished.  How long do you think that will take?  How long would it take if I had paid the fee?  I can't spend the bitcoins until I have confirmations, huh?

God, you probably get this every day.  I guess it doesn't take that long...  It's confirmed.  Thanks.

Bitcoin today is what the internet was in 1998.

Just until OzCoin and EclipseMC finds a block, because they usually include all transactions in their blocks.
