Life after Bitcoinica,,, as a creditor.

We should obviously be giving Patrick and Amir some respect, they, after all, hold the DB of who was paid what.  They have spent countless hours to work on this claim process and somehow felt they didn't have to anymore.

From the perspective of most creditors, beginning the payout process alone is a clear admission they had a responsibility to do so or they were acting from pure good will...

During the payout process they've attracted onto themselves the frustration and personal attack caused by ;
the lost of money
negligence x5
the very slow and stalling payouts process.

After the new hack the whole story became much harder to believe.
Their responsibility in this hack was clearly established as being of uttermost negligence.

Unfortunately they decided to stop all communication giving little to no hope of having them cooperate any further on giving back funds.

What they certainly don't understand is that, right now, some people cannot live healthily after having invested hearth and money blindly into what they strongly believe being the grandest of projects.

I am not asking them to process the payouts, I am merely asking for a sign of hope.
We don't have confidence that the funds are safe.
We don't have confidence that the incomplete data that could help processing claim is safe.
We don't have confidence that the list of who has been paid is safe.

If safe, ... to what extent ... ?  If both of you die, would that still be safe ? (not secure)

No backup, no security, no communication and being arrogant on top of that. How else than worried should we be feeling ?

Ps: How the fuck am I supposed to wake up and go on with my work/life while two year of hard work salary is slipping through my hands.  Heck it's not only 2 year of work, it's two year of work timely invested into being early adopter of the greatest project ever.

Any time you give up possession of your property, you are taking a risk.

You obviously weighed the risk/reward ratio for yourself when you deposited at Bitcoinica.

Keep trying to get your deposits back, but prepare for the possibility that you may never see it. Then all you can do is learn from the experience.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything Transisto has said.

One of the point that makes me particularly angry is that it doesn't seem that some of us remotely feel as we do.
They are able to go on with their life and projects, while we are struggling.

Having so little empathy for your customers show very little maturity and professionalism. There, I said it.

Rape victims are not to blame. In civil societies, they are not responsible for what has been done to them.

The ecosystem we have here lacks many features of civil society. Anyone participating needs to understand that. This is a very rough environment at the moment, anyone unable to live with losing their investment should not invest in Bitcoin.

Transisto is clearly a victim here.  Assigning blame isn't much use, though, as blame here doesn't readily translate to repercussions in the way many would hope. Either accept this and plan accordingly, or do something about adding repercussions. But risk/reward is the only thing that counts right now, and to think otherwise is to set oneself up to get fucked.

edit: to clarify, my sympathies are with Bitcoinica's creditors debtors. I am one myself. Sympathies don't, however, turn into money.
