Gavin got a lot of flak for visiting with them because of the /r/conspiracy wonks (and that most of the US government comes from their ranks).
This might be the first interesting idea to come out of that.

I can understand Anonymous chose to fight ISIS in their own way. The world should oppose these murderers, but a cooperation between them and the government? Not gonna happen.

It doesn't even need to be cooperative.  USG could changetip from it's CIA twitter account for the lulz, though possibly it would never be withdrawn.  Its unlikely that they understand the full nature of Anonymous, but the idea is interesting and weird. 
Anonymous can't be bought, but maybe there is a way the USG can pay without subverting or creating the appearance of subverting?

Anybody who can prevent people from being burned alive in cages or gunned down in the streets or heads being cut off whilst they are still kicking; would surely be welcomed in my books. I completely miss the point in doing these things to my fellow human beings under the blanket of religion. ^Sad^
They don't even need to do it under their own name. There are things like Wikileaks or channels to report these things. ^Crying^
