It depends... Are you ain the USA?
If so, you need a minimum of a business license. You can get that at your local county tax collector's office. You don't necessarily need a DBA or a tax ID. It depends on what kind of business you want to start. The website is really of small consequence as to what kind of licenses you need. It has more to do with what state you live in and your specific business model. For instance, if you wanted to start a printing business and website in Florida you would need at the minimum business license and a hazardous waste license from your county. They demand you pay for and follow the rules for hazardous waste for ANY printing company. You can usually use your own name for your business license if it's a small business and you can also use your social security number for your business tax ID. If you want to go with a big business model I would suggest filing for an S Corporation. This means a corporation that can be owned entirely by one person or several. It's very easy to apply for usually online... You would have to look up th website for your specific state. Once you have your corporation you can file for your tax ID for free.... Hope this helps you! :-)
