Actually indices calculated from composite (aggregate) orderbook and trading data were thought as having that meaning of an index representing Bitcoin economy. Or we we narrow the definition representing Bitcoin Exchange Markets.

We even have our internal working names for them like BTC1000 (and for all volumes BTC10, BTC100, BTC1000, BTC10000, BTC100000)

Speaking of feature requests, their donation address has received only BTC11.81 since March. To me this is one of the most useful sources of information and raw data, and I hope it stays there.
