Hey guys, when I tried to make another posts after a minute of my previous post, it says "The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later. The thing you were trying to post was saved as a draft. This limit decreases substantially as your account becomes more established."

Why is it so? Are newbies not allowed to make posts frequently?

I forgot to mention that even in higher ranks, posting limits are still present. I once tried to write down all my replies in different topics before posting them. Once I managed to edit all the points that I want to stress on, I wouldn't submit it yet, not until all of the other replies I am writing is finished. Well I did that for an experiment, seeing if I can submit post simultaneously within 10 seconds. And yes, a warning appeared, and it says: "The las posting from your IP was less than 8 seconds ago. Please try again later..." similar to what you have witnessed. There are posting limits for every rank, I guess. Not sure if the same thing exists on higher ranks because I'm not in the same rank as them.

Lowest limit is 4 seconds after 500 activity. Its barely noticable. I only notice it when I prewrite something e.g. due to a bad network connection. This also applies to reports btw.

So you mean the limits are still activity-based and not rank-based? I'm still uncertain as to how these limits are implemented on different ranks/activites. The warning I got when I tried to post 4 replies simultaneously is 8 seconds. Are there any threads that states this limits?

EDIT: Found what I was looking for. Posting it here just for other users' reference: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.msg4131557#msg4131557

Thanks a lot guys.

As you all were saying, with 500 activity, there is a 4 second limit before next post, but what about more higher level members like Legendary, Staff, etc. with very much high activity? Do they face the same problems?

As per the formula...everyone with more than 500 activity has a 4 second limit, no matter how much higher is its own rank. By the while having read the sticky may have given you the answer before posting.

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

I already read it but I am not a tech geek so not easy for me to understand, instead why would I ask?
Thanks for your help though, but I already saw this in the link in previously mentioned post prior to yours. Smiley
