The human eye has an angular resolution limit of about 1 minute, this equates to being able to see a 1 foot object at a maximum distance of 1/2 Nautical Miles before it's too small to be resolved. If a zoom lens is employed the resolution limit will be less than 1 minute and the distance a 1 foot object can be seen will be extended far beyond the 1/2 NM limit of the human eye.
This shows that a zoom lens or telescope does in fact extend the range of the eye by changing the angular resolution limit. Your point about being able to view celestial objects with the naked eye and magnification is completely non-sequitur.
Totally why one can't determine the distance, with the unaided eye, of things that are light years away. Totally why we need precision instruments and trig to at least give us an idea of how far away those things are. Distance of a light year = approx. 5,865,700,000,000 miles. Distance to Alpha Centauri, next nearest star besides the sun = approx. 4.37 light years.  |

It would be sooo easy with the right equipment and proper work to prove that the earth was flat, if it was. Well tbh, I actually watched that, as I was bored and felt like humoring the batty troll. Hate to break it to ya there batty, the production is complete garbage.
