Am I missing something here?

I dedicated 360 MH/s to this pool for 12+ hours, and it now shows 0.13 BTC after he/she fixed the stats just now.

When I made my previous post about this 2-3 hours ago, I switched my 5850 to point to BTCGuild, and in those 2-3 hours I've already made that much there.

Hopefully I'm just missing something, but please explain

I don't think you are missing anything, it stinks but we are all playing with luck when it's proportional payout, if no blocks solved 0 BTC and it's been over 20 hours since a block was solved. I'm in the same boat myself and I'm thinking about moving back to something more consistent.

The only way to get steady payouts from a pool is to increase its speed so rounds are shorter and earnings are more frequent. This naturally won't happen as long as people keep jumping ship at the first sign of not making as much at pool X as they were at pool Y.

My advice, either support new pools by helping them grow in size with your added hashing power, or go to deepbit where all the cool kids make their millions

No one can control the amount of shares that will be necessary to solve a block/the time it will take until we can credit our users. Since we are a small pool at the moment, it's more noticeable when we get a "tough one", the time it takes for us to solve a new block varies a lot.

As Nythain said, if you want your BTC's as quick as possible you might want to switch over to another pool. If you rather prefer a pool that doesn't want to make money on poor miners, and out of our opinion, gives you the most "bang for the buck" in the long run, Bitcoins.lc is the choice for you.

Oh wait! The "bang for the buck"-thing doesn't work since we don't have any fees!

As Nythain said, if you want your BTC's as quick as possible you might want to switch over to another pool.

I understand that nobody can control how many shares and how long it takes, and I have no problem with that.

However, it should still be proportional; If there are less people taking longer to solve for 50BTC, than each person should get more per block, just stretched out over a longer timeframe.  So the bitcoins per 12 hours, or bitcoins per 24 hours should average out the same between pools.


For example:
If it takes someone 12 hours to make 0.5 BTC at a popular pool that solves blocks rapidly, that person would get the 0.5 BTC from many very small payouts.
If that same person joined a small pool such as this, much fewer blocks would be solved, but since there are much fewer participants, each payout should be much larger, and the total over the 12 hour period should still average out to 0.5 BTC

Average, yes. The pool has solved 3, maybe 4 blocks. With the ghash/sec the pool is delivering, there is still substantial variance involved. Give it some time to average out.

I apologize if it sounds like I'm complaining, I do appreciate the work you've put into your new pool and website.  I think it's the best looking one so far, and after you implement the things you're planning to, and once the hashrate gets up there, it will be one of the best around.

very nice pool. instant payout is working perfectly. of course much to be done but for zero fee i think it is great.
suggestions:
1. it would be nice to choose the workers name and pass.
2. plz consider some sort of notification when workers are not submitting any shares

Bare in mind that this pool is still small. Which means that you will not get or see a balance instantly.

I must admit I am impressed with the low rate of invalid shares reported, I usually got 2-3 invalid shares in 100, I get one maybe every 500 shares.
