I hereby humbly offer Escrow services.

I have noticed of late that for a currency based on a core principle of trust, there is not a whole lot of trust! This is painfully ironic, but understandable.

I offer to act as an Escrow/Intermediary in a transaction, holding coins until cash or goods are received and accepted. This added safeguard helps to bring trust to a transaction. (I know many of you know this already, I don't mean to preach to the choir, but it occurs to me that some people may not get the concept).

My day job has me at a computer Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 17.30 GMT, where I have ready access to these forums, a BTC client and my emails, helping to ensure that transactions go through smoothly. I also have ready access at the weekends.

I will charge a flat rate of 0.5% or 1BTC per transaction, whichever is larger.

As I touched on trust is the key phrase here. I offer full transparency as to my identity to those parties who wish to use my services, with supporting documents if potential clients need it.

I am also registered  at Bitcoin-OTC.com (http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=majorddf&sign=ANY&type=RECV) although to be fair, I have no ratings at this time.

Anyway, any questions let me know, I am contactable via this forum, or my registered email.

how do you secure your funds? If you just have them in your wallet that isn't going to be safe enough. Compared to my escrow which host addresses on a paper wallet, then using armory on an offline computer sign the transactions. I think you need to learn the community more than offering a service like this. Clearly security was not thought of.

That is a fair observation, I did not mention anything about security in my OP.

I also use Armory to cold store funds, as you well know it is an excellent bit of kit, once you get the hang of the process.

Each escrow transaction would use an individual one time use address for ease of management.

Like yourself Gweedo I intended to create a website with some colleagues and run a full escrow service (coins, fiat and postal), I am, like you a web developer and it is well within our abilities. However, after GLBSE got the attention of the FSA we decided against it. Some research showed that it could be a full time job in itself to keep on top of the regs.

I still wanted to try to offer some kind of service, within this community however, so here I am!
