Yes you are correct. Turkish people are one of the most liberal people among all the muslim countries. People says if one wants to know about any country, go through the cinema. If you watch some Turkish movies, you will know what I am talking about

Although all the Muslim Turks I have dealt with use toilet paper. I think of this as more of a difference between city dwellers and those who live in rural villages. Kinda like here in the U.S. I don't think paper was used much here until the twenties.

and mass media is a strong feature for manipulation with the consciousness of people. It is important that people could form their own oppinion regardless of what the tv says. btw, support of Snowden on RT was also just because it was convenient for russian politics

Actually it is the people which interpreter their religion book in a way that they feel it's comfortable for them and lead the other people in wrong direction. That is the main problem. So people should use their brain before following any man/woman or book blindly.

This is only possible if a culture has literacy and a basic level of education for both men and women, say at the high school level.
