Actually it could help eliminate the spam in many other sections, for giveaways/faucets and things like that (no ponzi&shit like in games&rounds) it could be great.

Isn't the board called "Service Announcements" a fitting place for faucets and the likes? After all, they are still services to me. And also, the new forum software will soon come out, so I think it's best to leave the forum as it is before the new software arrives. I'm pretty sure that the admin planned for new boards and new features and asked the devs to add those into the new software.

Yes it should go there.  But the problem I think is the amount that end up in beginner thread.  This week it seems like fewer are doing it. But a week ago it seemed like 2 a day of faucet "rotators".   I don't think it is really a mistake of putting in wrong section, but a attempt to post where more new people will be.  And ultimate goal is to get more referrals.

I have trouble finding a even way to stop it though.   I'm unsure what you can do to make it stop.

You can't stop newbies on asking where to get free bitcoins because it is a way for them to get a hold of what it feels like having something in their wallet/addresses. Also, it isn't bad for the forum to be asked by newbies on where to get some free bitcoins because it also helps the new users gain interest in bitcoins. The problem is the recurring questions and threads. The solution is fairly simple, but I don't think many will follow it: create a single thread wherein all faucets are listed and all details are included, so as to prevent those redundant posts about those free bitcoins stuff.

this forum is for discussion and promotion of bitcoins.. not for handouts.. the whole sig business is already a nuisance
