Isn't anybody doing some simple calculations?

36,386/10 = 3638.6
3638.6/10000000 = 0.00036386

So that's 0.00036386 projected dividends per share per year, assuming no growth.
Shares start at 0.0032.

Do people seriously consider this a good deal?

So nobody else is irritated with the lack of development to this site when it has such a bountiful amount of potential? Have the creators / top investors got  holdings in alternate gambling websites, as to make creating themselves as a competition harmful to their own self interest?

Obviously a bit of speculation here, but these moves forward should be a no brainier. The last interface update was the addition of a lurid green header background and now the betting address flashes... yay.

It's not become any more user friendly towards new bitcoin users, nor has it become any more appealing in the sense of fun from a unique gaming/gambling experience.

If you're seriously out of idea's then let the community suggest some to you instead of letting this all just go stagnant.

Honestly why must it be an already existing project that introduces new concepts? Why can't other companies who are also seeking to give to the community introduce new ideas?

Oh course they can, I'm just saying that it's a complete waste of potential to not seize this market right now whilst they have a large user base...Any other idea that somebody wants to startup will involve much more risk regarding their set up costs and the assumption of being able to take a part of the market...That means advertising, building trust, healthy track record...and the capital behind the idea to make it worth spending at. The far more practical route is to build on a already solid foundation. (so hopefully the post a page back is true and Erik is making some changes...they just aren't in the public eye yet)

I'm not convinced sdice should develop more games. Keeping things simple has many benefits. It's clear, manageable, beautiful and above all profitable.

There are probably already bitcoin casino's offering different games, and they don't seem to succeed in taking market share. (Is this correct, anybody knows where I can find market share statistics of competitors?)

I see sdice as a killerapp for bitcoins, just like visicalc was for the pc. If Erik succeeds in continuing to offer the best visicalc, all will be well. I think adding more games is risking to lose attention and marketleadership in the killerapp while having a potential reward not much bigger as current growth rates. Risk/reward seems unfavorable.

A while back they added the "progressive" games.  Nobody plays them.

It could just be that the odds aren't good enough (they aren't, until they are) or that they're not positioned prominently on the site.

It'd be cool if Satoshi Dice had presence in Las Vegas casinos... Like Coca-Cola in fast food joints... I also don't like the idea of developing new games. Ultimately, it's Erik's decision and we all know that.

I really don't understand how you could possibly favor a single choice over a wider selection objectivly. Sure, you might be a die hard Sdice player...But there's a reason casinos don't just ask you what house edge you were wanting to bet against then they return your $100 for $95. Gambling is for entertainment, social interation (that could be as easy as a chatbox within the page) and of course the gambling/risk/thrill aspect.

It's like they've designed this great vehicle but refuse to put wheels on it.

I do not not, only for this particular case. I don't gamble but I know people that do. It seems to me this type of game is where a gambler bets when he exits the casino with all of his big earnings - something quick...

Here is what I see. He walks out of the casino having made a shitloads of cash which is stored on his smartphone. (its the future goddamn it) Then he decided to take one more chance just a quickie. He bumps his device with a SatoshiDice interface set up right by the exit of the casino, wins a whole lot more money and life is dandy.

There's no 'buying option' on the mpex website because it trading is done via irc.  If you're needing to ask all these questions to work out how mpex works I would venture to suggest using a passthrough might be a better option for you.  There's also the matter of the 30btc fee (or 25 if you hook up with one of the existing mpex members who would get a sign-up bonus) so unless you're planning on investing heavily or doing a lot of trading mpex is probably not the solution for you.

It's done by sending a GPG signed message and putting it through the box on the right of mpex.co, or pastebin it and send it to the bot on IRC.

Trading is not done via IRC, trading is done by passing a PGP encoded string of your order to the site. For this you can use mpex.co submit box, local software such as pympex, the irc bots, any of the web proxies etc. It's all in the FAQ.
