I know the bitcoin community is incredibly generous by donating to other organisations and charities to help spread the word about bitcoin but what resources are available to fellow bitcoiners who might fall on hard times and need a helping hand to get back on their feet?

Mutual aid societies existed in the US before the advent of social security and worked well in this regard. A bitcoin mutual aid organisation would be able to help in a way that respected the persons dignity and confidentiality.

In those times where you were bitcoin rich you could pay membership fees which would let you have certain benefits and support if you need it. There must be a lot of bitcoiners who could lend support to fellow community members even if its as simple as food and lodging. The fact plato is driving across the US living on bitcoins is proof.

It could also be as simple as letting people fill up with gas if you work at a gas station but they dont let you pay in bitcoins.

The mas could provide vouchers to people who can then use bitcoin providers for example.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.
